The Diocese of Wakefield is mainly in West Yorkshire in the north of England, with a significant part in South Yorkshire and five parishes in North Yorkshire.
The diocese is divided into two Archdeaconries: Pontefract (the deaneries of Dewsbury, Wakefield, Pontefract, Barnsley and Birstall) and Halifax (the deaneries of Huddersfield, Kirkburton, Almondbury, Halifax, Brighouse and Elland, and the Calder Valley).
