Supporting parish and community mission projects.
www.wakefield.anglican.org/development
Every parish is linked to the community it serves, either by location or by the work it does. Parish Development is about linking churches and communities in the most effective way. This can mean doing a whole range of different activities, depending on the focus and vision of the parish.
Wakefield Diocese has support for parishes that are hoping to, or are already moving forward with, projects supporting the wider community. These may range from providing facilities for community involvement or service e.g. church/parish halls through to revenue projects such as youth or outreach workers and anything in between.
Susan Parker is the Development Officer for the Diocese. She supports the mission of the church by working alongside parishes in their development projects and by providing practical support. This includes applying for funding, developing project ideas, writing business plans, community consultations etc. She works with parishes, enabling them to develop their own skills, projects and ideas.
Looking for funding?
Susan is the main contact for the Church Urban Fund and the Bishops Development Fund. For further details about these funds, their criteria, eligibility or an application form, contact Susan.
The Diocese of Wakefield has taken out a subscription to GRANTnet, an interactive database of thousands of possible funding sources, which will enable parishes and other local church related organisations to search a huge range of funding sources free of charge. Click here for the GRANTnet page.
