The Next Big Brew in this area will be held in 2009![]() The first Big Brew event was held in Salford in July 2004. Over 103 churches of all denominations were invited to open their doors for the day as fair trade cafés – it was then up to the churches how they expressed that. Over 50% decided to take part, reach out into their communities and deliver a range of events that included cafés, youth groups washing cars and serving tea to the drivers, family fun days and carnivals.
In 2007 over 60 churches and groups took part with coffee mornings, festivals and fun days. All the churches did something which generated fun, a sense of togetherness and promoted fair trade in the wider community.
The next Big Brew in Wakefield Diocese will take place in 2009. Watch this space for details nearer the time.
