Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC) - advice and permissions for church and churchyard repairs and alterations. Disability and access - support and advice for churches as well as empowering the involvement in church life of people with disabilities. Ministry among deaf people - support, worship, fellowship and mission among deaf people in Wakefield Diocese. Development and support - supporting parish and community mission projects. Ecumenical - Wakefield Diocese works in close partnership with a variety of Christian denominations across West and South Yorkshire. Education - Church of England schools are a vital part of the work and ministry of the Church in Wakefield. There are currently 103 Church of England schools in the Diocese. Together these schools educate nearly 22,000 pupils. Environment - support and resources about environmental issues for churches and Christians. Evangelism - support and resources to help churches and Christians share the good news of Jesus. Fairtrade - issues, support and resources. Hospital Chaplaincy - patients welcome and value visits from their home clergy, and hospitals recognise the importance of this in their spiritual care. But hospital chaplains also provide an invaluable on-site service to patients and staff. Hospices - chaplaincy and spiritual care in the hospice. Investing in our Faith - a diocesan initiative to encourage transformed lives, transformed congregations and transformed communities. Learning and Training - all those who offer learning and training opportunities work together in the task of broadening vision, identifying potential, building confidence and developing skills. Ministry of healing - the healing ministry in Wakefield Diocese is practised and promoted in various ways. Ministry and Vocation – ways of serving God through an authorised ministry, and of discerning a calling to those ministries. Ordained Local Ministry - ordained ministry focusing on a local community. Pastoral Ministry - support and training for the Bishop's Certificate in Pastoral Ministry. Patronage - the Diocesan Board of Patronage has a number of livings in the diocese in its gift and is responsible for nominating a priest to the Bishop when a vacancy arises. Prayer and Spirituality - the Prayer and Spirituality Group aims to encourage all in the Diocese in the development and growth of their spiritual life. Racial Justice - the Committee for Minority Ethnic Anglican Concerns consists of people committed to developing the place of minority ethnic Anglicans within the life and decision making of the Diocese. Reader Ministry - information about Lay Reader ministry. Records Office - the Wakefield Headquarters office of the West Yorkshire Archive Service acts as the record office for the diocese. The office implements the legislation under the 1978 and the Church of England (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure 1992... Registry - the diocesan legal office, offering advice and support on church legal and building matters. Resource Centres - in Wakefield and in Halifax, making available to churches that are part of Wakefield Diocese a wide range of books, ideas, visual aids and practical help. Retired clergy - support and resources for retired clergy and widows/widowers in Wakefield Diocese. Rural - resources, encouragement and advice to all who work, live, worship and visit rural areas. Stewardship - support and advice to parishes on Christian stewardship. Social justice - support and advice for issues of social responsibility and social justice. Wakefield Ministry Scheme (WMS) - offers parishes a three-year Basic Programme to help them develop in ministry and mission.
