The Wakefield office of the West Yorkshire Archive Service acts as the Appointed Diocesan Record Office.The office implements the legislation under the 1978 Parochial Registers and Record Measure and the Church of England (Miscellaneous Provisions) Measure 1992.

Archives can be brought in at any time but if assistance is required with a particular enquiry it is advisable to ring in advance. The Diocesan Record Office staff are also available to visit parishes to survey, provide advice and collect records.
