Learning and Training.Learning and Training is very important to us in the Diocese of Wakefield. We believe that all Christians are on a journey. On that journey God equips us to be disciples. Energy for the journey is vital. Without resources travellers become discouraged and tired. All our provision for learning and training is offered through our Pathways programme.
Access for allPathways is working towards providing something for everyone and caters for a range of interests and experiences. If you are just interested, qualified in some way or have no formal qualifications there will be a path for you on which to learn more about faith, discipleship and serving God today.
Journeying with othersAs Christians, much of our journeying is done in company with others. Pathways demonstrates that individual learning and learning ‘in community’ need not be incompatible. You will find events for you to attend on your own or as a group. There will also be the opportunity to request something to be provided for your church, group of churches or locality.
What is a Pathway?A Pathway is a clearly defined route, generally travelled over a longer period of time. It is hoped that some will want to travel along a path to become more equipped at working with children and young people, sharing faith or understanding more about faith in today’s world – to name but a few topics.
In-StepShorter steps are also provided. These are a vital part of any journey. One-session events, day conferences or shorter courses are an integral part of the journey. They may form a longer pathway or they may be just a few steps along the way. We are committed to helping you wherever you find yourself.
